Other Locations
Other consulting locations-
Dr Kollias also consults at the St Andrews Breast Centre in conjunction with Dr Jones and partners, and at the Melbourne Street Breast and Endocrine Centre in conjunction with Benson radiology.
These are “one-stop shop” clinics where the surgical consultation is undertaken in conduction with breast/endocrine imaging. Please enquire about appointments for these clinics with Dr Kollias’ reception staff
Consulting Times
Consultation by appointment can be made for most weekdays. The length of each consultation may vary with the nature and complexity of different medical conditions. Every effort will be made to ensure consultations are near the appointed time, but we offer our apologies when small delays occur.
Should time be of the essence, it may be wise to ring just prior to the appointment to ensure that any delays can be avoided.
Your Account
You may find it preferable to settle your account at the end of the consultation. Please discuss your preference with Dr Kollias’ secretary. Payment can be made with cash, credit card, personal cheque, or EFTPOS if you wish.
Fees for Consultation
Consultation fees at Dr Kollias’s rooms are set at a level below those recommended by the Australian Medical Association but above the Medicare Scheduled Fee. As such, Medicare does not completely cover the cost of your consultation. However, the out-of-pocket expense for new or follow-up consultations are most reasonable. Thyroid and breast ultrasound investigations and/or biopsy procedures are bulk billed. Pensioners and healthcare cardholders are charged a reduced fee.
Fees for Surgical Procedures
For many surgical procedures performed in a private hospital where a Medicare rebate applies and the patient has private medical insurance, Dr Kollias has an arrangement so that the patient does not incur a gap (no gap) or an agreed gap (not exceeding $500). This includes procedures such as breast reconstruction. Other procedures may incur an out-of-pocket fee. Informed financial consent is observed in all cases.

Free on-street parking is available in Angas Street opposite Dr Kollias’ rooms, together with metered parking on Hutt Street.
